Golden Retriever stuck in Vestavia Hills sewer pipe despite 4 hour rescue effort

A rescue effort is underway tonight for a Golden Retriever stuck in a sewer pipe in Vestavia Hills, police said.

Capt. Shane Ware said the older dog is stuck on Paden Drive.

The fire department has been on the scene for four hours, Ware said around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, along with other people attempting to get dog out.

A private company is on the scene trying to get it out now.
