“I really like the people of Alabama,” Newman said in an earlier interview with AL.com. “I’m from South Carolina. I feel like people are fun in Alabama. . . . People have a great spirit in Alabama, and they’re super-welcoming. And there’s a lot of great history and interesting history that people are happy to share.”
Newman previously visited Alabama for two episodes of “Travels with Darley” that featured Alabama’s Civil Rights Trail and first aired in January 2022
