2 Victories and 15 losses for Tennessee against the No. 1 team in the AP Poll. This is the third season in a row that Georgia is playing Tennessee while ranked No. 1. The Volunteers upended LSU 14-13 in 1959 in their first game and Auburn 38-20 in 1985 in their fourth game against the No. 1 team.

3 Tennessee players have more than 400 rushing yards this season and four Tennessee players have more than 300 rushing yards this season. In Tennessee’s 59-3 victory over Connecticut on Nov. 4, RB Jaylen Wright ran 82 yards for a touchdown and WR Squirrel White caught an 83-yard TD pass from QB Joe Milton III. Milton had an 81-yard run in a 45-14 victory over UTSA on Sept. 23. The Georgia defense has given up one play longer than 49 yards this season.

Ole Miss went 75 yards in 11 plays, but Georgia won 52-17 on Nov. 11.

4 Previous SEC programs have gone undefeated and untied in conference play in three consecutive seasons, which Georgia would accomplish by winning on Saturday — Tennessee from 1938 through 1940, Alabama from 1973 through 1975 and 1977 through 1979 and Georgia from 1980 through 1981. Tennessee and Georgia went 18-0 while Alabama had 20 victories in its first streak and 19 in its second. Georgia has had an 8-0 league record in each of the past two seasons and is 7-0 in 2023.

4 TDs have been scored by the Tennessee defense this season, tied for the most in the nation. The Volunteers have returned three interceptions and one fumble for TDs. Two other SEC members – Arkansas and Kentucky – as well as Clemson, Kansas, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State have four defensive TDs this season.

5 Georgia players have passed for 3,000 yards in one season, including current QB Carson Beck, who has 3,022 passing yards in the 2023 season. Stetson Bennett set the school single-season record with 4,127 passing yards in 2022. Aaron Murray reached 3,000 passing yards in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, Eric Zeier did in 1993 and 1994, David Greene in 2003 and Matthew Stafford in 2008.

The most recent loss for Tennessee at Neyland Stadium is a 41-17 defeat by Georgia on Nov. 13, 2021. Since that loss, the Vols also have won seven straight SEC games at Neyland Stadium, their longest conference winning streak in home games since taking 16 in a row across the 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999 seasons.

14 Consecutive games with at least one TD pass for Tennessee QB Joe Milton III. In the past two seasons, Milton has thrown at least one TD pass in each of the 17 games in which he’s passed at least once.

22 Consecutive AP polls have featured Georgia as the No. 1 team, the second-longest streak in the history of the rankings. Southern Cal spent 33 consecutive polls at No. 1 across the 2003 and 2005 seasons. This week’s poll moved Georgia past Miami (Fla.), which was in the top spot for 21 polls in a row during the 2001 and 2002 campaigns. The most recent poll without Georgia at No. 1 came on Oct. 2, 2022. Georgia had the most first-place votes that week but finished two points behind Alabama in the balloting.

24 Conference regular-season victories are the most in a three-season span by an SEC team, a record Georgia would match with a win on Saturday. In 2020, SEC teams had 10-game schedules of league games to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. Alabama went 10-0 and with eight SEC victories in 2018 and six in 2019 had 24 in three seasons. Georgia is seeking to complete its third straight season with an 8-0 conference record. With the exception of 2020, SEC teams have played eight league games annually since 1992. Before that, the number of conference games varied from team to team and year to year, but it never exceeded eight except in 2020. Other SEC teams that have completed a season with an 8-0 conference record include Alabama in 1964, 1973, 1992, 1994, 2008, 2009, 2016 and 2018, Auburn in 2004 and 2010, Florida in 1995, 1996 and 2009, LSU 2011 and 2019, Tennessee in 1998 and Tulane in 1934.

26 Consecutive conference regular-season games have been won by Georgia. Georgia has the second-longest conference winning streak in SEC history. The record is a 27-game SEC streak achieved by Alabama that started with a 20-13 victory over Tennessee on Oct. 16, 1976, and was ended by a 6-3 loss to Mississippi State on Nov. 1, 1980. Georgia’s most recent setback in an SEC regular-season game is a 44-28 loss to Florida on Nov. 7, 2020. During its streak, Georgia has had two games against an SEC opponent in the postseason. The Bulldogs lost to Alabama 41-24 in the SEC Championship Game for the 2021 season, then defeated the Crimson Tide 33-18 in the CFP title contest for the 2021 campaign.

27 Victories for Georgia, 23 victories for Tennessee and two ties in their football series. Georgia has won the past six meetings. The Bulldogs have a 13-12-1 record in Knoxville.

27 Consecutive victories for Georgia, the longest winning streak in program history. Georgia’s most recent loss was a 41-24 setback against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 4, 2021. The Bulldogs have the third-longest winning streak in SEC history – one victory short of the league-record 28 in a row accomplished by Alabama during the 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons and equaled by the Crimson Tide during the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons. A week after a 24-14 loss to Southern Cal, Alabama’s first 28-game winning streak started with a 51-28 victory over Vanderbilt on Sept. 30, 1978. It ended with a 6-3 loss to Mississippi State on Nov. 1, 1980. A week after a 35-0 loss to Florida, Alabama’s second 28-game winning streak started with a 10-0 victory over Georgia on Sept. 21, 1991. It ended with a 17-17 tie against Tennessee on Oct. 16, 1993. The Crimson Tide won its next two games after tying the Volunteers before a 17-13 loss to LSU. That streak of 31 games without a loss is tied for the longest in SEC history. Georgia Tech had two ties during a 31-game undefeated streak between a 54-19 loss to Alabama on Nov. 18, 1950, and a 27-14 loss to Notre Dame on Oct. 24, 1953. Georgia Tech’s ties came against Duke in the ninth game and Florida in the 28th game of the streak.

37 Consecutive regular-season games have been won by Georgia, the longest streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs haven’t lost in the regular season since a 44-28 setback against Florida on Nov. 7, 2020. The 37-game streak is tied for the fifth-longest in major-college football history. Yale won 37 consecutive regular-season games from 1890 through 1893, and Nebraska won 37 consecutive regular-season games from 1992 through 1996. The longest regular-season winning streak in major-college football history is 45 games by Oklahoma between a 7-7 tie with Pittsburgh on Oct. 3, 1953, and a 7-0 setback against Notre Dame on Nov. 16, 1957.

369 Games have been played by Georgia since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest scoring streak in SEC history and the third-longest in major-college football history. The Bulldogs haven’t been blanked since losing to Alabama 31-0 on Sept. 30, 1995.

601 Yards and five TDs on 44 receptions for Georgia TE Brock Bowers this season. Bowers is the Bulldogs’ leading receiver even though he missed the first two games this month.
