Florida has lost three of its seven fumbles this season. The other teams without a fumble recovery in 2023 are Indiana, Iowa State and Washington.
11 Consecutive October games have been won by Georgia, the SEC’s longest current winning streak in the 10th month.

No. 3 Florida defeated No. 1 Florida State 52-20 in the Sugar Bowl to end the 1996 season, No. 2 Florida defeated No. 1 Ohio State 41-14 in the BCS national-championship game to end the 2006 season and No. 2 Florida defeated No. 1 Alabama 31-20 in the 2008 SEC Championship Game. This is the third straight season that Florida has faced No. 1 Georgia. The Gators also played the No. 1 Bulldogs in 1942 in their first meeting with the top-ranked team. Georgia won that game 75-0.
19 Consecutive AP polls have featured Georgia as the No. 1 team, the third-longest streak in the history of the rankings. Southern Cal spent 33 consecutive polls at No. 1 across the 2003 and 2005 seasons, and Miami (Fla.) was in the top spot for 21 polls in a row during the 2001 and 2002 campaigns. The most recent poll without Georgia at No. 1 came on Oct. 2, 2022. Georgia had the most first-place votes that week but finished two points behind Alabama in the balloting. This week’s No. 1 ranking moved Georgia past Southern Cal, which spent 18 weeks at the top of the poll across the 1972 and 1973 seasons.
21 Third downs have been converted into first downs by Georgia’s opponents this season, the fewest in the nation. The Bulldogs have held their opponents to a 23.6 percent success rate on third down. The Florida defense has allowed a 29.1 percent success rate on third down, the third-lowest in the nation. The Georgia offense has converted 57.1 percent of its third downs into first downs, and the Florida offense has converted 33.3 percent of its third downs into first downs in 2023. The Georgia offense has the second-best success rate on third down in the nation behind LSU’s 57.8 percent.
23 Consecutive conference regular-season games have been won by Georgia. The Bulldogs also had a 23-game streak that began in 1980 and was ended by a 13-7 loss to Auburn on Nov. 12, 1983. Georgia has the third conference winning streak in SEC history that has reached 23 games. The record is a 27-game SEC streak achieved by Alabama across the 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons.
24 Consecutive victories for Georgia, the longest winning streak in program history. Georgia’s most recent loss was a 41-24 setback against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 4, 2021. The Bulldogs have the fourth-longest winning streak in SEC history. The league record is 28 wins in row accomplished by Alabama during the 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons and equaled by the Crimson Tide during the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons. Alabama had a 26-game winning streak across the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
34 Consecutive regular-season games have been won by Georgia, the longest streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs haven’t lost in the regular season since a 44-28 setback against Florida on Nov. 7, 2020. The 34-game streak is tied for the 10th-longest in major-college football history. Pennsylvania won 34 in a row between a 26-4 loss to Harvard on Nov. 30, 1893, and a 6-4 setback against Lafayette on Oct. 24, 1896. After the loss to Lafayette, Penn won its next 31 games.
54 Victories for Georgia (or 55, depending on which team’s records are used), 44 victories for Florida and two ties in the series. Florida does not count a 52-0 Georgia victory in Macon, Georgia, in 1904. The Bulldogs lead 48-41-1 in games played in Jacksonville. The teams have squared off annually since 1926, with the exception of the 1943 season.
76 Percent of Florida QB Graham Mertz’s passes have been completed and 74 percent of Georgia QB Carson Beck’s passes have been completed this season. Mertz has the third-best completion rate in the nation, with Beck ranking sixth. Beck has a passing-efficiency rating of 163.91, with Mertz at 163.66.
146 Rushing yards for Florida RB Daijun Edwards in the Bulldogs’ previous game, when he scored a TD and had 20 carries in a 37-20 victory over Vanderbilt. In Georgia’s 42-20 victory over Florida last season, Edwards recorded the first 100-yard game of his career with 106 yards and two TDs on 12 rushing attempts.
366 Games have been played by Georgia since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest scoring streak in SEC history and the third-longest in major-college football history. The Bulldogs haven’t been blanked since losing to Alabama 31-0 on Sept. 30, 1995.
443 Games have been played by Florida since it was most recently shut out, the longest scoring streak in major-college football history by 53 games. The Gators haven’t been blanked since losing to Auburn 16-0 on Oct. 29, 1988.
