0 Previous Auburn-Georgia games have been played in September. Before Saturday’s contest, all the games in the series had been contested in October and November, except for the first one, which was played on Feb. 20, 1892.

1 Major-college football rivalry will have been contested more than Auburn and Georgia after the Tigers and Bulldogs square off on Saturday for the 128th time. Minnesota and Wisconsin have met 132 times. North Carolina and Virginia will square off for the 128th time on Oct. 21. Georgia leads the series with Auburn 63-56-8 and has an 18-12-2 record in Auburn.

3 Consecutive No. 1 visitors have left Jordan-Hare Stadium with a loss. The Tigers defeated Florida 23-20 in 2001 and Alabama 34-28 in 2013 and 26-14 in 2017 in the previous three games at Jordan-Hare Stadium that featured the top-ranked team in the AP Poll. Georgia has played Auburn three times when ranked No. 1. The Tigers upset the Bulldogs 27-13 in 1942, and Georgia won 31-21 in 1980 and 19-14 in 1982. Auburn has five victories in 17 games against the No. 1 team. The Tigers also defeated No. 1 Florida 36-33 in 1994.

4 Consecutive games against Georgia have included fewer than 100 rushing yards for Auburn. The Tigers had 84 rushing yards in a 21-14 loss in 2019, 39 in a 27-6 loss in 2020, 46 in a 34-10 loss in 2021 and 93 in a 42-10 loss in 2022. No other opponent has held the Tigers to fewer than 100 rushing yards in four consecutive games in this century. Auburn has an 0-8 record since 2000 against Georgia when it fails to reach 100 rushing yards.

5 Auburn players have at least 100 rushing yards, more than any other team in the SEC, although the Tigers’ top runner this season, RB Jarquez Hunter, ranks 23rd in the conference in rushing. Hunter has 143 yards and one TD on 31 carries, RB Damari Alston 131 yards and one TD on 26 carries, RB Brian Battie 117 yards on 22 carries, QB Payton Thorne 106 yards and two TDs on 33 carries and QB Robby Ashford 101 yards and four TDs on 23 carries. Georgia has one player with more than 100 rushing yards – RB Daijun Edwards with 184 and three TDs on 32 carries.

7 Consecutive losses for Auburn against Georgia when the Tigers are unranked. The most recent victory over the Bulldogs for Auburn when unranked came on Nov. 13, 1999, when the Tigers upended No. 14 Georga 38-21. When Georgia is ranked and Auburn is unranked, the Bulldogs have a 15-3-1 record in the series. The unranked Tigers’ other victories came in 1942 and 1954.

8 Consecutive victories for Georgia in its first conference road game of the season. Since losing at South Carolina 38-35 on Sept. 13, 2014, the Bulldogs have beaten Vanderbilt three times, South Carolina twice and Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri once each in their first conference road game.

15 Consecutive winners of the Auburn-Georgia game have had at least as many rushing attempts as the loser. In 2008, the Tigers had 36 rushing attempts, but lost 17-13 to the Bulldogs, who had 33. In the 15 games since, the winning team has had the most rushing attempts 13 times and the teams had the same number of rushing attempts in the 2009 and 2019 games. This season, Auburn has averaged 41.5 rushing attempts per game and Georgia has averaged 34.5.

20 Consecutive conference regular-season games have been won by Georgia. The Bulldogs have had one longer winning streak in SEC play. A 23-game streak across the 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons was ended by a 13-7 loss to Auburn on Nov. 12, 1983. Georgia has the seventh conference winning streak in SEC history that has reached 20 games. The record is a 26-game SEC streak achieved by Alabama across the 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons.

21 Consecutive victories for Georgia, the longest winning streak in program history. Georgia’s most recent loss was a 41-24 setback against Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 4, 2021. The Bulldogs have the sixth-longest winning streak in SEC history. The league record is 28 wins in row accomplished by Alabama during the 1978, 1979 and 1980 seasons and equaled by the Crimson Tide during the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons.

25 Consecutive September games have been won by Georgia, dating from a 45-14 loss to Ole Miss on Sept. 24, 2016.

31 Consecutive regular-season games have been won by Georgia, the second-longest streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs haven’t lost in the regular season since a 44-28 setback against Florida on Nov. 7, 2020. The longest regular-season winning streak in SEC history lasted 33 games, which Tennessee achieved between a 13-7 loss to Vanderbilt on Nov. 13, 1937, and a 19-0 loss to Duke on Oct. 4, 1941.

75 Years since a non-interim Auburn coach lost his first two conference games. In 1948, Earl Brown’s Tigers lost to Florida 16-9 on Oct. 9 in Tampa and 27-0 to Georgia Tech on Oct. 16 in Atlanta. Auburn has an 0-1 SEC record in 2023, its first season under Hugh Freeze, after falling to Texas A&M 27-10 last week. Between Brown and Freeze, Ralph “Shug” Jordan, Doug Barfield, Pat Dye, Terry Bowden, Tommy Tuberville, Gene Chizik, Gus Malzahn and Bryan Harsin each won at last one of his first two league games at Auburn.

85 Victories in his first 100 games at Georgia for Kirby Smart. By beating UAB 49-21 last week, the Bulldogs pushed Smart to the SEC record for most victories and best winning percentage in a coach’s first 100 games at an SEC member. The most wins for a coach in his first 100 games at an SEC school had been 84 for Nick Saban at Alabama. The best winning percentage for a coach in his first 100 games at an SEC school was .845, achieved by Paul “Bear” Bryant with an 81-12-7 record at Alabama. Before Smart, the best record for a coach in his first 100 games in the SEC had been the 83-16-1 record of Steve Spurrier at Florida. Saban and Bryant coached in the SEC before coming to Alabama.

92 Years since the Auburn-Georgia series had a seven-game winning streak, with the Bulldogs entering Saturday’s contest having won the past six meetings with the Tigers. The only longer streak in the series lasted nine games, with Georgia winning annually from 1923 through 1931.

141 Receptions and 2,080 receiving yards for Georgia TE Brock Bowers, who ranks ninth in school history in both categories. He ranks third in school history with 22 receiving TDs. In his two games against Auburn, Bowers has four receptions for 79 yards and no TDs.

363 Games have been played by Georgia since it was most recently shut out, the second-longest scoring streak in SEC history and the sixth-longest in major-college football history. The Bulldogs haven’t been blanked since losing to Alabama 31-0 on Sept. 30, 1995.
