Georgia men arrested for indecent exposure, shooting game camera in bizarre incident at Alabama ATV park

A 66-year-old Georgia man is under arrest after authorities say he exposed himself to a game camera at an east Alabama park.

The incident happened at Indian Mountain ATV Park, Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver announced Monday.

Deputies received a report after a game camera captured one of two men trespassing on private property and exposing himself directly to the camera.

The situation escalated when the pair attempted to destroy the device in an apparent effort to cover their tracks.

After struggling with several malfunctioning firearms, the men eventually succeeded in firing the weapon, destroying the camera, the sheriff said.

“Despite their efforts to erase the evidence, the footage had already been secured,” Shaver said.

Donald Robert Hubbard, 66, is charged with public lewdness, criminal mischief and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.

Louie Dan Sherman, 52, is charged with certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm and criminal mischief.

Both men are from Cedartown, GA.

They were taken into custody in Georgia’s Polk County.

Hubbard was booked into the Cherokee County Jail at 11:15 a.m. Saturday and released at 4:11 p.m. after posting bond.

Sherman was also booked and released on Saturday.
