General Motors recalls 600,000 vehicles: See list of recalled SUVs
General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect that can cause engine failure.
According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers certain 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, and Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles equipped with a 6.2L V8 gas engine.
The potential defects involve the connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components.
GM is sending notification letters to vehicle owners on June 9. GM dealers will inspect vehicle engines and make any repairs or replacements to the engine free of charge. Vehicles that pass inspection will receive higher viscosity oil, a new oil filter and filter cap and an updated owner’s manual.
