Friends of Birmingham food truck raise money after fire; ‘I’m not broken’
Friends of a Birmingham food truck are raising money after it was consumed in a fire last week.
Treats So Sweet, founded by master baker Jermeria Johnson, lost its truck to a vehicle on March 14.
The business sells cakes, ice cream and other treats, as well as offering catering services.
In a Facebook post, the business explained that it intends to keep going.
“As devastating as it may be, I’m not broken,” the post reads. “This…DONT STOP NUFFIN.”
Friends have started a GoFundMe page to help with costs.
“Treats So Sweet isn’t just a business—it’s a dream, a livelihood, and a source of happiness for so many people. We can’t let this become a hurdle for them,” said Gilberto Herrera, who created the page. “Let’s rally together and show them that one fire can’t stop a dream!”
