A Haleyville man died Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash in Franklin County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

Don W. League, 77, was fatally injured when the 1990 Ford Ranger that he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. After the initial impact, the Ford struck a fence, a culvert and a tree. League was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The wreck happened about 7:55 p.m. on Franklin County 6 near Franklin County 69, about six miles northeast of Haleyville, ALEA said.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
