Former WWE star Tammy Sytch faces trial in Florida DUI crash that killed 75-year-old

Former WWE star Tammy Sytch, who is facing charges stemming from a deadly crash in Ormond Beach, Florida last March, had her pre-trial hearing this week rescheduled for April 13, according to PWInsider.

Sytch, 49, who reached mega-star status as “Sunny” with the wrestling company in the 90s, is accused by police there of crashing into the back of a stopped car and causing the death of 75-year-old Julian LaFrancis Lasseter last March.

Ormond Beach police say she had a blood alcohol level of .280, which is three and a half times the legal limit of .08 in Florida, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal. Tests also reportedly revealed THC in her system, police said.

The News-Journal said police also found an “unsealed bottle of vodka” in Sytch’s car.

The News-Journal said Sytch has also been charged with “one count of driving with a suspended revoked license causing death/serious injury; four counts of DUI with damage to person; and two counts of DUI with damage to property.” The newspaper said the charges could mean an additional 26 years in prison for Sytch if convicted.

She has pleaded not guilty.

Lassiter’s daughter has also reportedly filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Sytch.

Sytch, who was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, has a long history of run-ins with the law.

She was arrested in January of 2022 on weapon and terroristic threats charges after reportedly threatening to kill her “intimate partner,” with a pair of scissors. Prior to that, she was arrested in February 2019 and charged with her sixth DUI.
