Cornerback Darious Williams’ 61-yard return of an interception for a touchdown paced the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 23-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London.

The former UAB standout picked off quarterback Desmond Ridder and scored with 4:31 left in the first half as Jacksonville grabbed a 17-0 lead.

While Williams got the first interception-return touchdown of his NFL career, he had scored previously, with his first TD also coming against Atlanta. In the Los Angeles Rams’ 37-10 victory over the Falcons on Oct. 20, 2019, Williams recovered a fumble in the end zone a touchdown.

Williams also made five tackles and broke up two more passes in Sunday’s contest.

In addition to Williams, 12 other players from Alabama high schools and colleges were involved in the Jacksonville-Atlanta game:

· Josh Allen (Abbeville) started at weakside linebacker for the Jaguars. Allen recorded three sacks and forced a fumble on Atlanta’s final possession of the game. Allen has had one other three-sack game – three weeks ago versus the Indianapolis Colts in the opener of the 2023 season.

· Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby (Auburn) ran for 10 yards on three carries.

· Jaguars defensive lineman Angelo Blackson (Auburn) had two tackles and recovered the loose football on Josh Allen’s strip sack with 1:28 to play.

· Jaguars offensive lineman Chandler Brewer (Florence) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Jaguars defensive end DJ Coleman (Jacksonville State) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Falcons linebacker Tae Davis (Oxford) did not record any stats.

· Falcons safety DeMarcco Hellams (Alabama) made one tackle on special teams.

· Calvin Ridley (Alabama) started at wide receiver for the Jaguars. Ridley caught two passes for 38 yards and one touchdown. He became the first former Atlanta player to score in his first game against the Falcons since quarterback Michael Vick did so for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009. On Sunday, Ridley opened the scoring with a 30-yard reception from quarterback Trevor Lawrence with 5:44 left in the first quarter. The Falcons traded Ridley to Jacksonville in November.

· Jaguars offensive tackle Cam Robinson (Alabama) in on reserve/suspended by the commissioner. He must miss the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances. Jacksonville received permission for Robinson to accompany the team on its trip, and he can begin work with the Jaguars on Monday.

· Jaguars safety Daniel Thomas (Lee-Montgomery, Auburn) did not record any stats.

· Jaguars center Darryl Williams (Bessemer City) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

· Jaguars wide receiver Seth Williams (Paul Bryant, Auburn) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.

Jacksonville (2-2) will stay in London to play the Buffalo Bills at 8:30 a.m. CDT Oct. 8 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Falcons (2-2) host the Houston Texans at noon Oct. 8.

After Jacksonville’s games in London, three more contests remain on the NFL’s international schedule for the 2023 season:

· Baltimore Ravens vs. Tennessee Titans at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London

· Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at Frankfurt Stadium in Frankfurt

· Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots, 8:30 a.m. Nov. 12 at Frankfurt Stadium in Frankfurt
