Former Remington site in Huntsville getting new life
Work is beginning on two new buildings on the former Remington Outdoors plant site.
The city of Huntsville issued two permits totaling more than $30.5 million for sites at 1840 Remington Trail and 120 Electronics Boulevard. The permits were issued to Twenty Lakes Holding. Twenty Lake Holdings, a Connecticut-based Real Estate Investment and Management Company, purchased the property for $25 million in 2021.
Huntsville Communication Director Kelly Schrimsher said one of the buildings, valued at more than $23 million, is a new spec warehouse.
ARCO/Murray National, which is involved with several high-profile projects in Huntsville, is listed as the builder for the two buildings. It is also the builder for the $110 million Anthem House mixed-use development in MidCity, and the $108 million Wellory Living development in MidCity.
Remington Outdoors opened the plant in 2014. It also located its headquarters there. The company was lured by nearly $70 million in incentives. Huntsville provided $8.5 million, the Madison County Commission provided $2 million and the Huntsville Industrial Board provided $1 million.
