Former Auburn lineman, Alabama back among NFL elevations

Three players with Alabama football roots who weren’t eligible when Saturday started will be available to play in NFL games on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Marlon Davidson (Greenville, Auburn), Green Bay Packers running back Kenyan Drake (Alabama) and Baltimore Colts linebacker Jeremiah Moon (Hoover) were elevated from practice squads on Saturday to be eligible to play on Sunday.

Each NFL team is allowed to elevate two practice-squad members to active status for each game, with a limit of three elevations per player.

The Titans also elevated Davidson for their previous game, and he played 19 defensive snaps and made one tackle in Tennessee’s 28-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night in his first NFL regular-season action since Jan. 9, 2022.

Drake also was elevated by Green Bay last week, but he didn’t play in the Packers’ 24-22 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday. Drake played in two games for the Ravens earlier in 2023 for his only action so far in his eighth NFL season.

Moon was on Baltimore’s 53-player active roster earlier this season and played 70 defensive snaps and 75 special-teams plays in four games for his first NFL regular-season action. He spent the 2022 season on the Ravens’ practice squad as an undrafted rookie.

The Titans host the Houston Texans, the Packers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Ravens visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The first two games kick off at noon CST, while the Baltimore-Jacksonville contest starts at 7:20 p.m.
