Former Auburn defensive lineman Darron Reed Jr. headed to Southeastern Conference program
Former Auburn defender Darron Reed Jr. is staying in the Southeastern Conference.
The defensive lineman and former 4-star recruit has committed to Mississippi State, his agent Hutton Reed told AL.com.
Darron will have three years of eligibility remaining.
“I personally am a huge Jeff Lebby fan, I’ve known him since he was at Ole Miss,” his agent told AL.com. “We trust him & his plan for Darron.”
A native of Columbus, Georgia, the defensive lineman appeared in the 2023 Music City Bowl in 2023 and two games in 2024 across two seasons with the Tigers.
Darron was ranked a 4-star prospect out of high school by On3, ESPN and 247Sports in the 2023 recruiting class; he finished his senior year at Carver (Ga.) High School with eight sacks and 33 total tackles.
He was one of the top 20 prospects in the state of Georgia out of high school and a former top 100 recruit.
