Former Alabama running back scores his first NFL TD
After missing the Detroit Lions’ previous two games because of a hamstring injury, running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored his first NFL touchdown on Sunday.
Gibbs took a second-and-1 pitchout from quarterback Jared Goff and swept left for a 21-yard touchdown run against the Baltimore Ravens.
Gibbs’ first NFL touchdown came with 13:59 left to play and reduced the Ravens’ lead to 35-6 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
Gibbs joined the Lions as the 12th selection in the NFL Draft on April 27 after he ran for 926 yards and seven touchdowns on 151 carries and caught 44 passes for 444 yards and three touchdowns in his only season with Alabama in 2022. Gibbs transferred to the Crimson Tide from Georgia Tech.
In Detroit’s first four games this season, Gibbs ran for 179 yards on 39 carries and caught 14 passes for 70 yards before being sidelined.
