Former Alabama RB scores on his first postseason carry
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs showed he knows the way to the end zone by running for 10 touchdowns and catching one TD pass as a rookie for the Detroit Lions during the 2023 regular season.
The former Alabama ball-carrier demonstrated it again on Sunday night when he scored on his first NFL postseason rushing attempt.
Gibbs scored on a 10-yard run as the Lions took a 14-3 lead over the Los Angeles Rams in an NFC first-round game at Ford Field in Detroit.
The Lions are playing a home postseason game for the first time since Jan. 8, 1994, and are seeking their first playoff victory since Jan. 5, 1992.
The 12th player picked in the NFL Draft on April 27, Gibbs joined Billy Sims and Barry Sanders as the only Detroit rookies to run for at least 10 touchdowns.
Gibbs ran for 945 yards on 182 carries and caught 52 passes for 316 yards in 15 games during the regular season.
