Eli Holstein is heading north. The transfer quarterback announced a commitment to Pitt on Sunday morning. The former Alabama player entered the portal on Jan. 3.

Holstein has yet to make his collegiate debut. He sat in a stacked Crimson Tide quarterback room this fall and was one of the expected departures, along with Tyler Buchner (Notre Dame – lacrosse). Holstein was a four-star prospect from Louisiana, arriving in Tuscaloosa with Dylan Lonergan.

The Panthers are coming off a 3-9 season for head coach Pat Narduzzi. Pitt struggled to find consistent quarterback play, rotating through Nate Yarnll, Phil Jurkovec and Christian Veilleux.
