Former Alabama prep standout makes first-team All-Pro

Twenty-two players from Alabama high schools and colleges received votes for The Associated Press 2023 NFL All-Pro Team, but only two earned the first-team honor – Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams.

A former West Alabama standout, Hill joined San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and linebacker Fred Warner as the only players who were unanimous selections. They received a first-team vote each of the 50 media members who selected the all-star squad.

Hill has been a first-team All-Pro five times in his eight NFL seasons.

A former Wenonah High School standout, Williams earned All-Pro recognition for the first time. He finished third in the voting at linebacker with 59 points, including 14 first-team votes. (Players received three points for a first-team vote, two for a second-team vote and one for a third-team vote.)

Other players from Alabama high schools and colleges receiving votes for the All-Pro team include:

· Jonathan Allen (Alabama) of the Washington Commanders had one point to finish tied for 11th at defensive interior line.

· Josh Allen (Abbeville) of the Jacksonville Jaguars had eight points to finish fifth at edge rusher.

· Christian Barmore (Alabama) of the New England Patriots had three points to finish ninth at defensive interior line.

· Brian Branch (Alabama) of the Detroit Lions had 15 points, including three first-place votes, to finish fourth at slot corner.

· Derrick Brown (Auburn) of the Carolina Panthers had 12 points, including one first-place vote, to finish sixth at defensive interior line.

· Nico Collins (Clay-Chalkville) of the Houston Texans had four points to finish 10th at wide receiver.

· Amari Cooper (Alabama) of the Cleveland Browns had five points to finish ninth at wide receiver.

· Landon Dickerson (Alabama) of the Philadelphia Eagles had 17 points, including three first-team votes, to finish fifth at left guard.

· Josh Harris (Auburn) of the Los Angeles Chargers had two points to finish 10th at long snapper.

· Derrick Henry (Alabama) of the Tennessee Titans had one point to finish fifth at running back.

· Ryan Kelly (Alabama) of the Indianapolis Colts had four points, including one first-team vote, to finish fifth at center.

· Roger McCreary (Williamson, Auburn) of the Tennessee Titans had three points, including one first-place vote, to finish tied for seventh at slot corner.

· Xavier McKinney (Alabama) of the New York Giants had six points to finish sixth at safety.

· C.J. Mosley (Theodore, Alabama) of the New York Jets had 17 points, including three first-team votes, to finish ninth at linebacker.

· Siran Neal (Eufaula, Jacksonville State) of the Buffalo Bills had three points, including one first-place vote, to finish tied for ninth at special-teamer.

· Braden Smith (Auburn) of the Indianapolis Colts had two points to finish tied for fourth at right offensive tackle.

· Patrick Surtain II (Alabama) of the Denver Broncos had 21 points, including five first-team votes, to finish seventh at cornerback.

· Daniel Thomas (Lee-Montgomery, Auburn) of the Jacksonville Jaguars had three points, including one first-team vote, to finish tied for ninth at special-teamer.

· Jaylen Waddle (Alabama) of the Miami Dolphins had one point to finish tied for 14th at wide receiver.

· Quinnen Williams (Wenonah, Alabama) of the New York Jets had 49 points, including seven first-team votes, to finish fifth at interior defensive line.
