Former Alabama linebacker, Ric Flair to announce picks
Houston Texans linebacker Christian Harris will announce his team’s picks in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night.
The former Alabama standout is among the current and former players set to announce pick in Rounds 2 and 3, along with Troy Vincent, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, and wrestling icon Ric Flair. The Nature Boy is scheduled to announce the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ third-round pick at No. 92.
The Texans chose Harris out of Alabama in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Harris will announce Houston’s two second-round selections at No. 42 and No. 59 overall. The Texans did not have a first-round pick on Thursday night.
Since joining Houston as the 75th selection two years ago, Harris has played in 28 regular-season and two postseason games, with 24 starts. He has 111 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles in regular-season play.
Harris has one regular-season interception and one postseason interception. He returned his playoff interception 36 yards for a touchdown in the Texans’ 45-14 victory over the Cleveland Browns on Jan. 13.
The 89th NFL Draft resumes at 6 p.m. CDT Friday in Detroit. ABC, ESPN and NFL Network are televising the draft.
After picking 32 players in the first round on Thursday night, NFL teams will select 32 in the second round and 36 in the third round on Friday night.
