Former Alabama assistant Dan Enos hired at Arkansas
Former Alabama assistant coach Dan Enos has been hired for a second stint as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arkansas, the school announced Thursday.
Enos, 54, spent the last two seasons in the same position at Maryland, where he worked under former Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. While with the Terrapins, he also helped mentor former Alabama quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.
Enos was previously offensive coordinator at Arkansas from 2015-17 under Bret Bielema. This time around, he replaces Kendal Briles, who was hired earlier this week at TCU.
Enos was Alabama’s quarterbacks coach and assistant head coach in 2018, but left abruptly after that season to become offensive coordinator at Miami. It was reported at the time that Enos left Tuscaloosa for the Hurricanes without first informing head coach Nick Saban of his plans.
A quarterback at Michigan State in the late 1980s, Enos has also worked at Northern Michigan, Southern Ilinois, Western Michigan, North Dakota State, Michigan and Cincinnati. He was head coach at Central Michigan from 2010-14, posting a 26-36 record.
