Former Alabama All-American makes first appearance in ‘NFL Top 100’
The only two-time unanimous All-American in Alabama’s football history, Will Anderson Jr. is preparing for his third NFL season, and for the first time, he’s doing so as a member of the “NFL Top 100.”
In its 15th year, “NFL Top 100” features a ranking for the league’s best 100 players as selected by the players for NFL Films.
Anderson is No. 46 in the “NFL Top 100” for 2025, the NFL announced on Wednesday.
After earning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year awards from The Associated Press and the Pro Football Writers of America for the 2023 season, Anderson came back in his second season with 14.5 sacks, including 3.5 in the playoffs, and 20 tackles for loss for the Houston Texans.
In the three seasons before adding Anderson with the third selection in the 2023 draft, the Texans won a total of 11 games. Houston won 10 regular-season games and a playoff contest in each of the past two seasons.
Using a new digital-first format this year, “NFL Top 100” is being revealed two players at a time every weekday on the social-media platform X until Sept. 1, when the top 10 players for 2025, as chosen by their peers, will be announced on NFL Network at 7 p.m. CDT.
Anderson is the seventh player from an Alabama high school or college to appear in this year’s rankings, with Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (West Alabama) at No. 47, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Josh Hines-Allen (Abbeville) at No. 63, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix (Pinson Valley, Auburn) at No. 64, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (Alabama) at No. 82, New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (Wenonah, Alabama) at No. 87, and Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) at No. 91.
