Football recruiting update: Gulf Shores’ Ronnie Royal commits to North Carolina State

Gulf Shores’ Ronnie Royal today announced on social media his commitment to North Carolina State.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior RB/ATH is a 4-star recruit who chose the Wolfpack over more than 20 offers, including SEC schools Arkansas, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Tennessee along with Florida State, UAB, Central Florida and more.

Royal ran for 1,079 yards last season, adding 838 yards receiving and totaled 2,089 all-purpose yards for Gulf Shores.

He earned first team all-state for the fourth straight season — 2019 and 2020 at Alexandria and 2021 and 2022 at Gulf Shores.

Enterprise’s Keion Dunlap committed to Indiana. The 6-foot, 187-pound senior defensive back also had offers from Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss, Penn State, Central Florida, UAB and more.

Enterprise teammate Eric Winters picked up a Tennessee offer in adding to his impressive list. The 6-2, 200-pound 4-star ATH also has offers from Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Tennessee, Clemson, Penn State, Oklahoma, USC, Georgia Tech, UAB, Central Florida and Troy.

Rydarrius Morgan of Central-Phenix City narrowed his list to six with Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, Miami, Florida State and Cincinnati. The 6-foot, 175-pound 3-star senior defensive back also had offers from Florida, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Texas among others.

Oneonta 6-foot, 230-pound Class of 2024 RB/LB Fluff Bothwell added an Army offer to a list that includes South Alabama, Navy, Jacksonville State, Eastern Michigan, North Alabama, Austin Peay and more.
