Football recruiting update: Andalusia’s Landen Marshall commits to Georgia Tech

Andalusia’s Landen Marshall today announced his commitment to Georgia Tech.

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive lineman chose the Yellow Jackets from among almost 30 offers, including Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Michigan, Oregon, Texas, Miami and Florida State.

A 3-star prospect for last season’s Class 4A state champions, Marshall had 20 tackles with seven tackles-for-loss and a sack as a junior.

In other recruiting news:

Enterprise senior 4-star athlete Eric Winters added a Texas A&M offer to his impressive list that includes Auburn, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Clemson, Penn State, Oklahoma, USC, Georgia Tech, UAB, Central Florida and Troy. Winters is 6-5, 200 pounds.

South Alabama offered four state players in the past week, including Logan Joellenbeck of Foley, Jamison Curtis of Saraland, Achilles Woods of Austin and JayShon Ridgle of Athens.,

Joellenbeck is a 6-6, 330-pound senior offensive lineman who picked up recent offers from South Alabama and Southern Miss to go along with offers from UAB, Jacksonville State and Alabama State.

The 6-1, 210-pound outside linebacker Curtis is a 3-star senior recruit, adding the Jaguars after offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Texas A&M, Memphis, Liberty, Georgia Tech, UAB, Marshall and more.

South Alabama also offered 6-4, 250-pound senior defensive end Woods, who also lists Memphis, UAB, Austin Peay and Southern Illinois.

Ridgle, a 6-foot, 197-pound athlete, also listed an offer from Jacksonville State on Wednesday to go along with offers from Florida State, Southern Miss, Tulane, UAB, Troy and more.

Davidson 6-foot, 185-pound running back Derrick Butler earned an offer from East Carolina. The senior also has offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, West Virginia, Central Florida, Tulane, East Carolina, Southern Miss, UAB, Troy, Jacksonville State and more.

Helena senior linebacker Nate Thomason added to his list with an offer from Memphis. The 6-2, 207-pound Thomason also lists Air Force, Army, Navy, Southern Miss, Jacksonville State and more.

Junior TK Norman, a 6-foot, 170-pound receiver from Pike Road, added a UAB offer to go along with an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

UAB also offered Auburn’s Jake White, who transferred from Lee-Scott. The 5-11, 177-pound White is a senior wide receiver and was first team all-state last season for AISA AAA champion Lee-Scott.
