Football High Live: Updates from Friday’s Week 7 HS games

No. 9 Sparkman looks to stay unbeaten tonight when it travels to rival James Clemens in one of several key Class 7A games around the state of Alabama tonight.

The two teams are tied for first in Region 4 with 3-0 records. The Senators are off to their best start since 2019.

Other key Class 7A games in Week 7 include No. 2 Thompson traveling to face No. 6 Hewitt-Trussville, top-ranked Central-Phenix City hosting No. 7 Dothan and No. 3 Auburn traveling to face arch rival Opelika.

6:47 PM, Can the Bucs get on track? Hoover is off to its worst start in two decades at 1-5. If the Bucs hope to make it back to the playoffs, it must start tonight at Oak Mountain.

6:40 PM, Huge one in 7A, Region 3: No. 2 Thompson travels to No. 6 Hewitt-Trussville, looking to rebound from last week’s nationally televised loss to Clay-Chalkville. First place in the region on the line tonight.

6:35 PM, Can Saraland keep the No. 1 spot? The reigning 6A champ Spartans have been at the top of the Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings all season, but Clay-Chalkville picked up nine first-place votes following its win over 7A Thompson last week. Saraland and Alabama commit Ryan Williams are at Blount tonight.

6:30 PM, Is Sterling back? Alabama commit Sterling Dixon, who injured his shoulder against Theodore two weeks ago, is in uniform tonight for Spanish Fort as the Toros host St. Paul’s in the 11th California Dreaming Bowl. Will he play? We will soon find out.
