Food court for food trucks coming to downtown Birmingham starting Monday
Birmingham attorney and retail developer Eric Guster has a new vision for downtown, a food court specifically designed for food trucks.
Guster purchased the property at 1104 3rd Ave. North last year, which used to be a Waffle House, in order to create a space specially designed food trucks to gather and sell to hungry patrons.
After much work and planning, Third Avenue Food Court will officially open on Monday with Taqueria La Catrina and Frozen Rooster being its first two vendors.
They will open around lunch time from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“In 6-12 months, you will not recognize this block as this transformation takes place,” Guster said via Facebook post.
“Be sure to stop by during lunch for some great food! So thankful for Taqueria La Catrina and Frozen Rooster for joining me from day one.”
Guster’s main goal for the project is to help other entrepreneurs establish a following in Birmingham to help them grow and thrive, according to reports by WBRC.
Food truck vendors interested in setting up at Third Avenue Food Court can rent out a spot on a monthly basis to come and go from as they please.
