Foley police are asking motorists to avoid an area of U.S. 98 and Hickory Street in Foley this morning while they investigate a tragic crash that occurred earlier Thursday.

Donald Gregory, 66, of Foley, was struck and killed while walking in the intersection of U.S. 98 and Hickory around 5 p.m. Police say that the crash was before daylight and fog may have been a contributing factor. No other details were provided by police.

An investigation is ongoing. Police ask the public to avoid the area until about 9 a.m.
