Floyd brothers power Hewitt-Trussville past Tuscaloosa County
Brothers Peyton and Parker Floyd stole the show as Hewitt-Trussville rolled past Tuscaloosa County 42-7 in a Class 7A, Region 3 game.
Peyton threw for 185 yards and four touchdowns and Parker recorded nine tackles, including stopping a Wildcats fourth down try early in the game and had a pass break-up in the win.
The Huskies scored a touchdown on every possession in the opening half while holding the Wildcats to 67 total yards of offense.
Mohammed Alabsi scored on a 1-yard fumble return after Parker Floyd and teammates pressed Wildcats quarterback Braedan Smith and knocked the fumble out of his hand at the 1-yard line.
Hewitt-Trussville (3-1, 2-0) played reserves for almost the entire second half as they built a 42-0 lead at intermission.
Kamom Jackson ran 5 yards for the Wildcats (3-1, 1-1) touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Game ball: Senior quarterback Peyton Floyd was 13 of 14 for 185 yards, including scoring passes of 10, 32, 13 and 12. Floyd added 70 yards on seven carries in the win.
