Florida woman dies after being hit by car on Alabama road
A Florida woman died early Sunday morning after being hit by a vehicle while walking along a road in Escambia County, Ala., according to information provided by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
According to ALEA, the incident took place at approximately 12 a.m. Sunday.
A pedestrian, identified as 39-year-old Kati Anne Riley, was fatally injured when struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Kenneth Elbert Harrison, 45, of Silverhill.
Riley, a resident of Cantonment, Fla., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The site was on U.S. 31 near mile marker 39, about two miles north of Atmore. ALEA released no other details but said an investigation is ongoing.
