Florida sex offender jailed on child porn charges indicted in abuse, rape of underage girl in Alabama
A Florida sex offender jailed on child pornography charges was indicted Monday in the sexual abuse and rape of an underage girl in Alabama, according to court records.
Dale Lewis Russell, 52, of Russellville, was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury on two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree sexual abuse, records showed.
The indictment stated the female victim was older than 12 years old but younger than 16 years old.
Russell was jailed in Florida after being convicted of possessing child pornography in November 2020, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office told WAAY.
He was required to register as a sex offender in Florida for the rest of his life in 2021, the station reported.
Russell’s Alabama case is scheduled for a hearing Tuesday in Franklin County Circuit Court.
