Florida man dead, 2 teens injured after multi-vehicle wreck in south Alabama
A Florida man died and two teenagers were injured following a multi-vehicle crash last week in south Alabama, authorities said Tuesday.
John D. Woods, 68, of Century Florida, was driving a 2002 Jeep Cherokee on Highway 31 in Brewton, in Escambia County, on June 10 when he was struck by a 2020 Nissan Murano, said Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Senior Trooper Joshua Thompson.
The Nissan was then struck by a 2019 Hyundai Sonata, said Thompson.
Woods, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, where he died of his injuries Thursday.
The 18-year-old driver of the Murano and a 16-year-old passenger in that vehicle were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers investigate the incident.
