A Florida man stands accused of multiple counts of sexual assault and threatening to kill a child if the child’s mother did not have sex with him.

Gavin Jernigan is being charged with three counts of first degree rape, willful abuse of a child under 18, sodomy and harassment.

Jernigan was arrested last week in Florida but the alleged abuse occurred in Baldwin County. Records indicate Jernigan lives in Cantonment, Florida.

According to court documents, Jernigan attempted to coerce the victim several times by threatening to kill her child that is under one year old.

Jernigan also violently shook the young baby court documents allege.

Jernigan allegedly raped the victim several times and strangled her during one attack.

The documents also state that sleeping pills were used by Jernigan to incapacitate and sexually assault her.

Jernigan’s bond has been set at $231,000. If he makes bond the conditions of his bond are that he has no contact with the mother and child while being monitored on house arrest.
