Florida bouncer accused of causing man’s brain damage in nightclub fall arrested in Tuscaloosa

A Florida nightclub bouncer accused of knocking down a patron with such force the man suffered severe and permanent brain trauma has been captured in Tuscaloosa, according to WPLG in Fort Lauderdale.

U.S. Marshals arrested Justin Brown, 24, in Tuscaloosa Wednesday, nine days after he reportedly was working as a bouncer at Capone’s Nightclub in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where Andrew Palacios was celebrating his 34th birthday.

Palacios family members told multiple Fort Lauderdale media outlets he was forcefully pushed by Brown, causing Palacios to fall backward, his head striking the pavement so hard it caused his brain to shift, his sister said.

“When he fell the pressure was so hard on the back of his head that his brain shifted to the front,” Daisy Palacios said.

Daisy Palacios said he has been in a medically-induced coma since the incident.

Andrew Palacios’ has a young daughter and another on the way, his sister also said.

Brown will be charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, permanent disability or disfigurement, a 2nd-degree felony in Florida.

Brown could face up to 15 years in prison.
