A Florence man has been arrested on sexual abuse charges related to an incident that reportedly occured last weekend.

Carlos Che, 55, was arrested Sunday.

He has been charged with attempted sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age and first degree attempted rape.

According to court documents, investigators believe Che sexually abused a 5-year-old girl at a residence in the 700 block of Tombigbee Street Saturday.

He was booked into the Lauderdale County Jail.
