There’s something special about waking up in the wee hours of the morning to go to a farmers market. Maybe it’s the thought of produce picked at its peak, in season. Maybe it’s the camaraderie with farmers you just can’t get at a grocery store. Looking to shop with farmers and food producers from around the state? Here are five Birmingham-area farmers markets to add to your list.
The Market at Pepper Place opened in 2000. The market sports an array of farmers food vendors, and artisans as well as live music and cooking demonstrations. This year, the market is extending its 2023 schedule until Dec. 16.
When: The Market at Pepper Place is open every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.
