Fired Alabama water superintendent charged with having ADEM form with forged signature
The former water superintendent for a north Alabama city was charged Thursday with criminal possession of a forged instrument after he allegedly had an Alabama Department of Environmental Management form with a faked water official’s signature, according to court records.
Former Moulton Water Superintendent Jerry Johnson, 50, of Town Creek, allegedly turned in the ADEM Water and Wastewater Operator Experience Verification Form that contained Moulton Water Works official Stanley Nichols’ signature to Moulton City Hall, according to the complaint filed Friday in Lawrence County District Court.
Johnson, who was terminated from the Moulton Water Works last year amid harassment allegations, was trying to complete the application process to become a water and wastewater operator, the filing showed.
He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. He was released from the Lawrence County Jail after posting $2,500 bond.
