A fire Friday night destroyed a multi-story clubhouse at a residential community near Huntsville.

The fire occurred at Hampton House, located at Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads just east of Huntsville. No injuries were reported.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, Hampton House said the fire at the under-renovation clubhouse began about 10:40 p.m. No one was present when the fire occurred, according to the statement.

The adjacent swimming pool is closed today, the statement said, because of debris and there are safety concerns with the part of the clubhouse that’s still standing.
