A bridge over Interstate 85 in Montgomery was damaged following a fiery crash that involved four vehicles.

WSFA is reporting that the crash happened at about 7:25 a.m. Tuesday. Four people had minor injuries.

As a result of the crash, an 18-wheeler carrying wood collided with the support columns holding up the South Perry Street bridge.

The crash set the load of wood alight, with the resulting fire damaging the bridge support.

Officials with the Alabama Department of Transportation say the area around the bridge will remain closed until ALDOT personnel can assess the damage.

I-85 traffic is being detoured at Exit 6.
