Female pedestrian struck, killed in north Alabama crash
A Florence woman was struck and killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the incident happened at about 3 p.m. Tuesday on Lauderdale County 11 near Alabama 157, about 10 miles north of Florence, in Lauderdale County.
Joyce Mansell, 72, was struck in the roadway by a 1996 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Michael H. Bishop, 47, of Florence.
Mansell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
