Fatal shooting by police under investigation in Cordova
An investigation is underway after a person was shot to death early Monday by law enforcement officers.
The shooting happened at 6:05 a.m. at 83 School Street in Cordova in Walker County.
Cordova Police Chief Krimson Culverson in a press release said no Cordova officers were involved. He did not identify the agency that fired the fatal shots.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency was contacted and responded to the scene to lead the probe.
Efforts to reach Culverson for additional information were not successful. ALEA has not yet released a statement. Calls to the agency believed to have been involved have not been returned.
