Fast food chain reportedly moving towards electronic payments only

Cash may soon be a thing of the past at Taco Bell.

CNN is reporting the fast-food chain’s parent company, Yum Brands, is working on plans for 100% digital transactions. The change would include more people placing orders through the restaurant’s website or mobile app or via a restaurant kiosk.

Yum Brands also owns Pizza Hut and KFC.

The plans were detailed in an earnings call with company CFO Chris Turner earlier this month. No timeline for the change was given.

In the call, Turner said the chain’s digital sales in the U.S have increased almost 35% over last year with kiosks now in place in all stores.
