Famous rapper spotted at popular Birmingham bar

Musician Lil Nas X was spotted in Birmingham on Friday night.

The Old Town Road singer was at Al’s on 7th, an LGBTQ bar in the Lakeview neighborhood, according to the bar’s social media posts.

He was pictured alongside the drag performance group Dreamcast, who had a Memorial Day Weekend show on Friday night at Al’s and will perform again Saturday night.

It’s unclear why Lil Nas X was in Birmingham. The rapper, who is originally from Atlanta, does not have any shows in the area.

Lil Nas X, who is queer, was scheduled to perform at a pride festival in West Hollywood next weekend, but recently cancelled due to ongoing medical issues. He was recently hospitalized after experiencing partial paralysis on the right side of his face.

In a statement to fans the “Industry Baby” singer said:

“After my recent hospital visit, I – like all of you should – must prioritize my health and getting back to 100%. As it currently stands, I would not be able perform the type of show my fans and community deserve. I am sorry! Even though I can’t be there, I hope you all show OUT for Pride. Now more than ever, we need to be seen.”
