Family sought for 3 men who died in Birmingham in recent weeks

Authorities are asking for the public’s help finding family members of three men who died in Birmingham in December.

The men died from natural causes, but their bodies are ready to be released for burial and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not been able to find their next of kin.

Eddie Lee Davis, an 84-year-old Black male, died Dec. 14. He was a tenant of Birmingham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and under the care of Aveanna Hospice.

Davis previously listed a previous address in the 2600 block of 6th Avenue North in Birmingham.

Cecil Dwight Watts, a 75-year-old white male, died Dec. 19 in the 1200 block of 22nd Street North.

Watts died while he was tenant of Civic Center Health and Rehabilitation. No photo for Watts was available.

Watts listed previous addresses at multiple nursing homes and private residences in Adamsville, Forestdale, Hoover, Alabaster, Birmingham, and Bessemer.

Kevin Shane Vining(Jefferson County Coroner’s Office)

Kevin Shane Vining, a 46-year-old white male, died Dec. 19 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.

Vining, of Montevallo, was an inpatient at the hospital and under the care of Southern Care Hospice.

Vining listed previous addresses in Birmingham and Montevallo.
