Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a weekend hit-and-run in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the victim as DeAndres Terrell Dixon. He was 37 and lived in Fairfield.

The crash happened at 1:10 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Third Avenue West.

Dixon was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:34 a.m.

The driver who struck the victim left the scene. No arrests have been announced.
