Ex-Salvation Army officer arrested in Alabama after 3 years on the run

A former Salvation Army officer who was arrested earlier this month in Alabama after three months on the run pleaded not guilty in connection with a home invasion in Louisiana.

Glenn Riggs, 66, of Pineville, Louisiana, pleaded not guilty to home invasion and out-of-state bail jumping, according to KALB.

Riggs is a former major of the Alexandria, Louisiana branch of The Salvation Army.

After his Feb. 16, 2020 arrest in connection with the home invasion of a woman’s home in Pineville, he was put on administrative leave by The Salvation Army’s Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi Headquarters and is no longer with the organization, KALB reported.

He posted $5,000 bail after his arrest but did not show up for his arraignment on Nov. 6, 2020.

A bench warrant was issued for Riggs’ arrest.

The former Salvation Army major was reportedly on the lam for nearly three years until he was located in Alabama earlier this month and extradited to Louisiana on Jan. 10.

Riggs is being held in the Rapides Parish, Louisiana, jail on $21,500 bond, KALB reported, citing jail records.
