The film will return to many theaters nationwide (check Fandango for your local multiplex’s showtimes), including Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema in Birmingham. Sidewalk announced they will screen the film multiple times from Friday, Feb. 10 through Sunday, Feb. 12. Check for showtimes.
Scheinert recently gushed over his filmmaking coming-of-age via the Birmingham festival to AL.com. “Sidewalk Film Festival is still my favorite film festival, so anytime I can go, I go,” he said. “I always tell other filmmakers that it’s the right size of a film festival where you can walk to all the theaters, and it’s just one fun weekend. A lot of film festivals are like two weeks, and it’s all spread out. I come back for that whenever I can.”

Who are the filmmakers from Alabama?
Co-writer/director Daniel Scheinert was born in Birmingham, where he attended Oak Mountain Elementary and Middle Schools before going to high school in Shades Valley. His parents, Ken and Becky, now live in Guntersville. His dad said Scheinert got into filmmaking through local competitions and musical theater during high school.
The film’s editor, Paul Rogers (also nominated), was born in Birmingham.
