‘Everyone loved T-Rob:’ Buckhorn coaches react to death of former player

Buckhorn High coaches were mourning the loss of one of their own Sunday night.

The school announced that former football and basketball player Terrence Robinson had died.

Robinson was part of the Bucks’ 2022-2023 Class 6A state champion basketball team.

Buckhorn basketball coach Patrick Harding reacted on social media:

“We lost an all-time great teammate today. T-Rob was a fierce competitor, unselfish and always team first. We will remember your smile and joy for life. You were truly special.”

Harding told AL.com Robinson died in his sleep this afternoon.

Buckhorn football coach Matt Patterson said on social media that Robinson’s loss ‘hurts.’

“I have never seen a kid impact other people’s lives like T-Rob,” he wrote. “The faculty, student body, teammates, fans, youth, etc. Everyone loved T-Rob and wanted to wear No. 7. He was THAT GUY. Love you 7.”

Robinson was a football team captain for the Bucks, being selected for the AHSAA North-South All-Star Football Game in 2022.

On the basketball court, he scored 10 points in Buckhorn’s 65-56 win over Mountain Brook in the 2023 state title game.
