An Evergreen man died Friday when his vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer in Monroe County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The accident occurred just before 5 a.m. Friday on U.S. 84, just one mile east of Repton, when a 2016 Nissan Altima driven by 34-year-old Jonathon L. Wilson collided with a 2016 Mack tractor-trailer driven by 51-year-old Scottie Smith of Frisco City.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith suffered what ALEA described as minor injuries and was transported to Monroe County Hospital for treatment.

No additional details were released as ALEA continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
