An Etowah County couple has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse after a 2-year-old child in their care was injured to the point of hospitalization, said Sheriff Jonathon Horton.

Jasper Williams and Tiffany Williams turned themselves in to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office on April 7, the sheriff said.

They were released from the Etowah County Jail after posting $100,000 bond.

The Williams’ arrests stemmed from a case involving a 2-year-old child in their care who needed to be hospitalized.

The sheriff’s office did not say how the child was injured, citing the ongoing investigation.
