ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ Week 8 destination announced
ESPN’s “College GameDay” is headed back to SEC country.
The popular college football pregame show, which spent the last two weeks on the West Coast, is headed to Austin ahead of Texas’ game with Georgia.
Host Rece Davis is at the helm for his 10th season, joined at the desk this week by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the cast.
Lee Corso has missed the last two weeks of the show. It is unknown if he will be in Austin.
Quinn Ewers returned from injury to lead No. 1 Texas to a 34-3 win over 18th-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, throwing for 199 yards and the go-ahead touchdown and running for another score in the teams’ first Red River Rivalry matchup as SEC members.
Quintrevion Wisner ran for 118 yards and a touchdown for the Longhorns and his fumble at the end of another long run was recovered in the end zone by teammate Silas Bolden for a TD. Texas improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the SEC. The Sooners are 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Meanwhile, Carson Beck passed for a career-high 459 yards with three touchdowns and No. 5 Georgia withstood Mississippi State’s second-half comeback bid for a 41-31 win. Georgia improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SEC.
Georgia played at times as if it were looking ahead to next week’s visit to No. 1 Texas but had enough offense for its 28th consecutive home win.
