Eric Adams hits back at Tuberville’s ‘crime and migrants’ tweet
New York City Mayor Eric Adams hit back at Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., after Alabama’s senior senator said “crime and migrants” were plaguing New Yorkers as President Biden enjoyed ice cream in the city Tuesday.
“Hope @JoeBiden enjoyed going out for ice cream in NYC while the rest of the city is afraid of crime and migrants,” Tuberville tweeted Tuesday.
Adams shot back, claiming Tuberville’s tweet did not reflect reality.
“Guess you haven’t visited New York City in a while,” the mayor said. “Jobs are up, crime is down and we’re delivering for working people.”
Adams then took a dig at Alabama over the state Supreme Court’s decision determining that frozen embryos are “children.”
“All that AND we support reproductive health — especially IVF,” he said.
Biden went for ice cream in New York with Seth Meyers while appearing for a taping on the late night host’s show.
Besides Adams, Tuberville also faced criticism for his remarks from people who pointed out that Alabama’s homicide rate is three times that as New York City’s.
